I built this city on rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!
Ever since the news shows played their list of worst songs, I can't get this freeping song out of my head! I have to agree that it IS one of the worst songs ever made!

1. Starship
The song's in frequent rotation here on the local 80's station. For every song like New Order's "True Faith", you have to listen to Starship or Genesis or Howard Jones or any seemingly infinite number of crappy pop hits. "We Built this City" was a long fall from "White Rabbit".

2. Grace Slick said this song is what convinced her fo leave Starship.
She said it was the worst kind of bland, boring crap. And wondered why she was doing it.

The last I heard, she's an apologist for her ways during the hippie era, saying that it was naive to think that idealism and drugs could change the world - or something idiotic to that effect, this is paraphrasing from an interview mind you... I forgot if it was my reupke morning show or the E True Hollywood special...

These days she sells art. Nice job, if you can get it.
