Paris Hilton Mess.,

My mom (new computer user) clicked some paris hilton e-mail. anybody know WTF this is. She wanted to see the paris girl hump. She thinks she got some spyware. If you know what I am talking about. Will, ad-aware kill this? Spybot S&D? She thinks she got some spy-ware.

Mother starts using, FireFox, ThunderBird, ZoneAlarm, And AVG Virus in the morning.

3. I think she is lonely..

She thinks SPAM is personal. She was in jail for the last 11 years (she got out 11/9/2003). So the internet is very weird for her. She doesn't know the dangers yet. She has a hard time thinking people want to hurt her via the internet.

So run a recently-updated virus scanner as well. Using Thunderbird mail is a very good idea - not nearly as easy to infect as Outlook.

6. You need to explain to her

that she should never, ever open email that's not from a source she already knows and trusts. Perhaps you can use her prison experience to make her understand that some of those people don't care about her and don't care if she's hurt -- if her computer is completely trashed by a virus. I would have thought she'd be less trusting of all people, not more.
