10. I felt like that yesterday afternoon.
The night before, I had called my landlord of the new place to which I am moving and he informed me that the roof of my new rental was sitting in the street, pulled off by high winds.

So yesterday I went to see the damage.Good news and bad news. The roof was only off the living room, where I had carted a ton of books and made a library. Bad news, I had to move ALL THOSE BOOKS into another room, so I almost broke my back moving them in a hurry because it was spitting rain. I took some of the most valuable back to my original place, like a first edition of John Greenleaf Whittier, but left a lot of old family hundred-year-old books there. The cops were very nice and said they would keep people from looting the place(99%of my clothes,90%of my dishes and posts and pans are still there, all my paintings plus bookcases and books.)

Meanwhile, back at the old place, the water pipe had exploded two weeks before and I had to turn off the well and pump.No water. I had been hauling it from the other house to brush my teeth and flush the toilet. My landlady came back to town over a week ago, became aware of the water situation, and still hasn't called the plumber. So I am hauling water from a friend's house.she's sitting on my $100 deposit, the other landlord has $150 deposit, the water dept. has $100 deposit, I'm supposed to be out by the 5th and I don't have any place to go.And I've got my stuff in two places and getting water from a third.

Damn betcha I felt like spending the rest of the day in bed.

11. About 10 days ago I decided to quit smoking
and since they go together, to quit caffeine from the innumerable cups of coffee I drink each day.
By this Tuesday I was a zombie.
Wednesday I spent curled in the fetal position, in bed all day and all night.
Thursday I got it together enough to visit my doctor. He gave me 6 kinds of hell for trying to do too much at once. He told me to drink coffee and smoke until I was stabilized, then pick ONE thing to quit at a time. He suggested cigarettes.
I am now recovered but it was one of the top ten worst days of my life.

12. NIcorette
It's fantastic. Clear up your lungs and still enjoy your drugs, at least for a while.

16. Heck yes! Especially in winter, and I live in L.A.!
There are just some days, when the world has had its way with you, and obligations have left you tapped out, that you want to say, "to heck with it -- I'm not leaving the house, or bed, for that matter."

Occasionally, I'll take a "mental health day" off work, stay in bed and read, snooze, etc., and it feels **great**!
