I went to see "Man On Fire" yesterday.
Best quote from the movie:

"Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting."

-- Denzel Washington's character, Creasy, just before he's about to unleash some medieval vengeance on the guilty.

1. That's a good line.
Just a quick question, what were you trying to do over on CU the other day? I saw you in that "top 10 idiots" thread someone posted. They didn't seem to appreciate you being there very much!

6. Can you be more specific?
I've been posting there ever since that list came out.

I have 2 main reasons for being there:

* To get to know the opposition better... I think a lot of the anger I've had for conservatives had been based on a strawman I'd built up in my mind. While there are a few there who re-affirm that image, there are plenty of others who do not, and who, in fact, are evidence to the contrary.

* To try to debunk a lot of the misconceptions some of them have about democrats.

I've found that if you're patient, don't respond to personal attacks, and don't make any yourself, that they'll think about what you have to say.

2. Great quote!!!!!
Is the movie any good?

I've not seen a movie in the theatre for a few weeks. I am looking forward to Van Helsing which comes out this Friday. Watched Bela Lugosi's Dracula to prepare.

3. Freepers are already using it ...
Some of the knuckledraggers on one of my hockey boards have modified it to be:
"It's God's job to judge the terrorists ...
It's our job to arrange the meeting"

:eyes:

How Christian of them. I'm sure God would approve. Not.

No original thoughts amongst them.

5. Funny thing that, in a movie its a good quote but
slide on over to GD and you'll see where the Navy using something similar is getting a good tongue-lashing.

Nothing against you TXLib, I'm just finding the contradiction rather amusing. Besides, the Marines penned that quote years ago.

8. That's exactly what I meant.
In a movie, in that context, it was a great quote.

What contradiction? Can you provide a link to the specific thread?

I had never heard that quote before.

10. It's the Horsehead Nebula.
No symbolic meaning, other than that I am a physics/astronomy geek.
