my son is watching Futurama
Edited on Sun May-02-04 06:08 PM by tigereye
am I in for trouble later?

Now I have to explain Amazonia and why no one should be a sociopath like Bender ( and the rest of them) :)

Ooops, poor planning on my part. But it probably isn't any worse than those 60's cartoons I watched...

3. blame my husband - not sure if it was that one
I was looking askance at it... I think a lot of it went over his head. Okay, we will need to do the post-mortem and see what he got and missed.

2. Snu snu?
You see son, when giant amazon woman hasn't had snu-snu in a long time, she has to have lots of snu-snu right now!

Love when Kif uses his lizard skills to get away in that episode. :)

7. "Amazon WOmen in the Mood" is one of the more ribald episodes...
Most of them are comparatively harmless and off-the-wall. AWitM is the only one I recall (apart from "Love Labours..." (season 1, episode 4)) that spends a ton of time with sexual situations/innuendo.

8. maybe no harm done

I have never understood why people try to keep sex as such a big secret from children.

What's the concern?

the child will grow up to be a nympho or a pervert?

that the child will tell the other kids about sex and thereby cause trouble in school?

the child will begin having sex earlier than she otherwise would?

There is some validity in the last 2 of these possible concerns, but I think its way overdone by most parents.

Clarification: I am talking here about parents in society at large here and *not* specifically trying to criticize anybody who is on this thread. I am not trying tell anybody how to raise their children either -- it should go without saying, but any parents out there should feel completely free ignore these opinions.

9. You raise valid points.
And hopefully nobody will think you're accusatory (I'm not.)

It is a taboo, this sexuality stuff, in society... For reasons I can't say right now, it's best to keep kids (under 15 I suppose) away from sex...

Indeed, many children use sexual words inappropriately. Such as using the word "fag" to describe heterosexuals. (of course, if we teach 'em what's what, will they then use the words accurately?)
