Holy Christ! Ever break a toe?
Hurts like HELL! And there's not a damn thing you can do about it. (Except keep drinkin')

1. Tape it to the adjoining toe so that it doesn't move too much.
You're right, it hurts! Take it easy on your foot. I found that crutches helped, at least the first week so that I didn't have to walk on the foot while it was still so painful.

Broke the big toe on my right foot playing soccer. Me and another guy were going for the ball at the same time and ended up kicking each other in the foot.

Hurt like hell.

3. Ow sorry rainless!
I haven't broken one, but I have horrible arthritis in both and a bone spur on top of my left big toe knuckle. I can only imagine what you're going through!

You don't realize how important toes are, and the abuse they get until they're in bad shape, huh?

4. I think I did.
I never went to the doctor to have it checked out, but it hurt for almost a month.

It was sooooo pathetic. I got up from the sofa one day, and tried to turn the corner to get around it. I was barefoot as usual and my pinky toe went right into the leg of the sofa. I writhed on the floor for about 10 minutes. It hurt so bad that 3 of my toes were in pain, although later only one of them was broken. It was wierd. That's happened before with some of my teeth too after a swimming accident.

Anyway, despite the lack of treatment or any attempt on my part to get it to heal, it's fine now.

5. Yeah, I broke my big toe on the right foot when I took a fall
but I broke my back in the same fall so the toe didn't seem to matter much. They both still hurt though, 6 months later.

6. I broke and dislocated my pinky toe one day after having a root canal.
I also couldn't nurse for one day because of pain med for tooth. :o In the ER they kept looking at my face(chipmunk cheeks) instead of my toe. :eyes: Hindsight it's all kinda funny, but at the time it was pure misery.

8. Oh Hell Yeah....
About 6 months ago I was more or less running through my tiny apartment. The space between my couch and a solid oak bookcase is just wide enough for my "larger than average" self to go through under normal conditions, but this time I inadvertantly slammed my right foot into the bookcase. Whole foot was numb for a couple minutes, but the little toe took the worst of the hit. Putting a shoe on was extreme agony for about 2 months. First week I didn't even try. Even now the thing hurts a bit if I go for a long walk. Who knows, it might never completely heal. It ain't like they could put a cast on it.

I also ran over my big toe with this 400 pound cart once. That was the weight of the cart. The PVC pipe stacked on it weighed even more. Luckily that one didn't break. It just turned black and eventually the toenail fell off. That was kinda gross.

10. It does hurt
I fell off a ladder once, broke my big toe on the right foot and sprained the left ankle. Pain was pretty bad, but eventually it just went wawy (3 months or so).

12. Yes, I have.
Last summer. It was a fracture on my left middle toe.

It was the only broken bone I ever got in my life.

15. Yes
I had filled a three gallon Hudson sprayer, just prior to dropping it on my little toe. It sounded like someone had cracked a whip. About ten seconds later, my brain registered the pain. I cried wee wee wee all the way home.
