How do I cope with the worst loss of all time?
Having gained 20 pounds last month, enough is smurfing enough.

No more eating after 7pm.

No more junk food, though I eat little of it.

I love eating. Food is my friend. I'm amazed I'm not a total gargoyle considering how much I eat. (this is no joke, BTW)

Exercise in the morning.

I'm not sure why I care, what with me being a futile defeatist and everything else... But I do. :-)

1. Sounds like the ghosts of peeps past
Dump the sodas if you drink them and stick to water.

2. Heh. Except,
I rarely ate the peeps. All I did was unleash my psychotic lonely unloved fury unto them.

3. Twenty pounds in one month...
Please see your doctor. This may be the result of on organic illness, or syptomatic of severe depression. Talk to a doctor in the morning.

4. Yes, that does not sound normal.
A sudden weight gain could be the signal of a serious health problem.

6. Ah. There was a teensy tiny little albeit expensive change in my diet.
I ate out 4 days a week with a coworker.

It's caught up with me, apparently.

My depression is not that severe. If it was, I'd be at a different place right now. (Hospital, I'd expect...)

7. Severe may be an overstatement...
Get out and walk, talk to others, enjoy the flowers...

8. I agree with the doc advice
Get a thorough check-up first.

Then, forget about fad diets or quick weight loss schemes. In order for the weight loss to be permanent, it's a lifestyle change you're looking for. I'll tell you what worked for me a few years ago. I started out by eating smaller portions. I stopped eating between meals. I didn't cut out sugar altogether because I have a ferocious sweet tooth. But I found if I let myself have a treat once in awhile, it curbed the craving. Then comes the bad news...exercise! Really, it's not all that bad. In fact, when I'm exercising regularly, I feel so much better, I have more energy, I sleep better, and I'm happier.

I also came to terms with the fact that I'll never be a six-foot tall supermodel. What I am is a 5'5" redhead with plenty of curves. I gave up envying women who could wear a size 4 and got happy about fitting consistently into a 10. I'm healthy, and I'm happy with my body size, although I'm not a willowy twig like I always thought I wanted to be. :)

So see a doc, take a few walks, and love yourself! (We already do, BTW.)

10. I look at it like this;
I am a 42 yr old man, in 20 years I may be in a nursing home or dead (I know there are other options, but that is no important :), so I am having what I want now.
