Rasputin's "banana"
Supposedly, one of the final indignities Rasputin suffered during his assassination was having his dingus cut off. And like John Dillinger, legend had it that the famous jumbo kielbasa was preserved and stored in secretive locales where only the priveleged could view it -- I remember once reading that his daughter remarked that it looked like an "overripe banana."

Well, a new museum of erotica is opening in St Petersberg and one of their prime exhibits is the Mad Monk's former glory.

An old whispered fable may actually have turned out to be true.

1. The last I heard, the knife Yusopov did it with belonged to Jim Williams
The late Savannah, GA, antiques collector who was the subject of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". He brags about owning it in the book.

But just think, Rasputin was allegedly poisoned, shot, stabbed, demasculized and thrown in the almost frozen Neva river, but the autopsy revealed his cause of death to be drowning. The mad monk did not want to die.
