Poll question: Go-Gos poll: There WERE 9 tunes!
Although only 7 showed up on the nominations thread, plus one from tigereye's earlier Go-Gos thread (See? I saw it). Filled it out with Skidmarks on My Heart, a definite contender for the All Titles Hall of Fame.

I'm sticking with Head Over Heels myself.

2. This Town
Is our town
it is so glamourous
Bet you'd live here if you could and be one of us.

This song even had a cool 7/4 time signature.

15. God Bless the Go-Gos was a great album...
that did not get the marketing press it so richly deserved.

Another great tune on that album is "Unforgiven; but like all their other albums, just about every song is good. These ladies still know how to rock. It's like the years between 1984 and 2001 never happened.

9. Welcome to DU! I remember them doing this in Philly in '81

"Usually it's about Los Angeles, but tonight it'll be about Philadelphia!" Don't know if they were wasted or not used to being on stage yet, but it sounded really silly.

4. Where's "Alice The Seal"?
That's the one I liked....

Can you hear them
They talk about us
Telling lies
Well that's no surprise

Can you see them
See right through them
They have no shield
No secrets to reveal

It doesn't matter what they say
In the jealous games people play
Alice the seal

6. I considered putting on "Alice the Seal" and "I'm a Sicilian" but decided
the other tunes and Other deserved a slot. Maybe we can do a misheard lyric thread.

8. Today I'll say Lust to Love
Go Go-Gos!!!! :bounce:

Lust to Love

It used to be fun was in
The capture and kill
In another place and time
I did it all for thrills

Love me and I'll leave you
I told you at the start
I had no idea that you
Would tear my world apart

And you're the one to blame
I used to know my name
But I've lost control of the game
'Cause even though I set the rules
You've got me acting like a fool
When I see you I lose my cool

Lust to love
Was the last thing I was dreaming of
And now all I want is just to love
Lust turned to love

That was when the fun was in
The capture and the kill
In another place and time
I did it all for thrills

Love me and I'll leave you
I told you at the start
I had no idea that you
Would tear my world apart

13. And she's a "talented" actress, too!
Joan of Arc in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (also featuring Fee Waybill of the Tubes and Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band). Also played the Singing Telegram girl in Clue. Classic performances, both of them.

16. Mmmm, Jane....
When I saw the Go-Go's at San Diego State University in the early 80's, I spent the whole concert standing at the edge of the stage at Jane Weidlin's feet. They were just getting started, and she was SO nervous, I don't think she ever made eye contact with anyone in the crowd, just kept her stare fixed on the back wall! She is SUCH a babe!

Oh, and I voted for "Can't Stop The World," favorite song from B&TB of myself and my 8-year-old daughter!
