I had to post this last line from an email my buddy sent
Edited on Tue May-04-04 11:18 AM by HEyHEY
to all of us that were in the Journalism Program at college. It made me laugh so much.

"anyway, love you all and miss the days when I could
skip school, not work, and puff reefers all day.
Then came the student loan bill."

I'm sure any ex-students can relate

Incidentally he's getting sued right now for an article about a water bottler illegally shipping water to the US.

.......we're smuggling water...what the????

1. Smuggling water?
As a long time resident of one of the Northern US States, I've long known about the cigarette and beer smuggling across the border, but water? That's a new one.

3. I had a Prof. in college that was from Winnipeg...
He would tell us stories about his friend who had this theory about how the US wanted Canada for it's water. We'd always make jokes and say "We're coming for your water"

Maybe it's finally happening...smuggling Canadian water. Is it really that good???

8. Canada has...
about 25% of the world's fresh water supplies, and US water companies have been buying up a lot of it.

I've heard some Canuckian politicians warning of the possibility of a US invasion for the water, but others are sort of questioning just how they're going to deal with the political and economic pressure.

No War for Water, eh?

5. HeyHey?
I'm sure you have many meaningful things to say. But your animation makes it difficult for me to read you or the posters near your posts. Perhaps I'm the only one affected but I wanted you to know before I make you the second person on my ignore list.

The only other person I have been forced to ignore prefers the vanity of dancing underpants to being read.

Sorry. But animations in posts make me dizzy and I've decided not to try and put up with them anymore.

7. How does it make that difficult? Do you have a problem?
Edited on Tue May-04-04 11:37 AM by HEyHEY
I don't mean that in an insulting way, but do you have a vision problem or something?

On edit: Nah, I don't have too many meaningful things to say...a lot of smartass quips really

11. To turn off animations
If you have IE, go to the menu bar and pick Tools -> Internet Options... . Then choose the Advance tab, scroll down to Multimedia, and turn off the check box next to "Play animations in Web Pages." That should help in many places.

12. I used to haul water from Canada......
....back in my trucking days.

Once, I was sent from Portland ,ME to Montreal with an empty trailer (263 miles) to pick up a load of bottled water for Chicago (939 miles). Nothing special about the water (Dannon - tastes like Chicago tap water), and as far as I know, there's no shortage of drinking water in Chicago.
