Here's one for you (local Philly news story)
Edited on Tue May-04-04 01:48 PM by skypilot
It was reported on the news yesterday that some jackass basketball coaches gave a 13 year old boy a "Crybaby of the Year" trophy at an athletics awards ceremony. One of the coaches even called the boy's parents to make sure he would be attending. The "trophy" itself was a tiny little thing with a sculpture of a crawling infant.

Here's the really despicable thing. A reporter went to the boy's home to interview his parents. The boy himself was too embarrassed to take part in the interview. The boy's dad is telling the reporter (a now despised--by me, at least--Bill Baldini) how upset and embarrassed he and his son were about this "Crybaby" award and guess what Mr.Baldini asked the father regarding his son:

"Did he cry?"

Is it just me or was that an absolutely despicable thing to ask this dad considering the nature of this "award"--and the subject of this news story which has already put this young boy in an embarrassing spotlight?

1. What a couple of asses!
Ass #1 - that jerk-face coach, may he soon be unemployed.
Ass #2 - that jackass reporter. What an insensitive lout! He probably needs to find a new line of work, too, if that's the best question he can come up with.

2. God Bless Pat Tillman. He made good use of his life.
Sports! All Crap!!!
Sports are all about beating the crap out of others and a false sense of strength.

We need a strong defense and Pat Tillman made the right choice. He fought for his Country. There's alot more to be admired in Pat Tillman the American Soldier then in some sports star.

3. Despicable and inexcusable
When all hell broke loose I heard the coach called the kid and said he shouldn't get his panties in a bunch because someone had done that to him as a kid and he "got over it." :spank:

8. Yup
And like spineless bully shitheads from time immemorial, he publically humiliated an unsuspecting and defenseless kid and told him how it could be worse.

He needs to be pink slipped immediately if this is his manner of molding young minds.

5. Meanness is becoming too common
I know a repuke who loves beauty pageants, and loves to ridicule the contestants - even the children in the (disgusting) child beauty pageants. Even though the child isn't there to hear the comment... why??!!

This guy should be fired and banned from working with children ever again.

7. meanness becoming too common.
I was thinking the same thing after I saw this news story. Bill Baldini is something of an avuncular type who I'd never expect to ask something like that. After the segment aired I couldn't help but think that meanness is spreading like a disease and I just watched Bill Baldini catch it. It's sort of like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or something.
