The Navy Blue Angels are doing practice runs right over my office.
There is an air show tomorrow at the Naval Air Station here in Marietta, GA, which is only a few miles from my office. And I have been getting a preview of the show. They are totally breathtaking. Makes you want to be up there with them.
It's just amazing to me that they can fly in formation seemingly inches apart without hitting each other is incredible enough, but to do it through barrel rolls and loops, etc is mind-boggling.
There are two--the West Coast A-10 team and the East Coast A-10 team. They do the same kind of show as the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels, but an A-10 flies lower and slower than a fighter and is more maneuverable than either an F-16 or an F/A-18.
