The New England Patriots love George Bush and prove it in this photo
If you have been asking yourself "What is President Bush doing while new allegations are surfacing regarding Iraqi prisoners and additional photos," the answer is simple...he's havin' a photo op with Super Bowl Champs, The New England Patriots!

This is from the White House Web Site (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/05/20040510-4.html). The best part is the caption for the photo: "Remarks by the President in Photo Opportunity with the New England Patriots"...I wonder if all other photo ops will be flagged as such in the future?

Crusader Bush speaks to the Patriots about the White House: "For those of you who weren't here two years ago, this is a pretty cool place to come."

Commisar Bush offers what is perhaps a thinky veiled metaphot for the 2004 election: "The thing -- a couple of things impressed me. One, you never lost a home game. That's really good marketing. (Laughter.) That's a smart way to do it -- to fill up your stadium and have your fans go home happy every game."

Reverend Bush plays the God card once again: "And you set such a good example of what it means to serve something greater than yourself."

And...perhaps most tellingly...Bush tones down his earlier "I don't plan on losing my job" remarks: "So thanks for what you do. Congratulations for getting back here to the Rose Garden. My hope, of course, is that I'm back here again to see you next year. (Laughter.) Your hope is that you come back. (Applause.)"

5. Robert Kraft is actually a Democrat
He's given exclusively to Democrats, including Markey, Kerry, Frank, Kennedy, Rangel, and more.

10. what's in the post itself doesn't prove that the pats love bush
anyone else notice this?

By the way, he was talking about serving the team rather than playing for themselves.

11. True...
...and yes, I know that a trip to the White House comes with a Super Bowl victory...

It's just the photo of Bush, beaming proudly as he accepts his jersey while the picture of the naked guy surrounded by the dogs is getting flashed on TV screens around the clock. I don't play professional sports so I can't understand first hand the amount of effort it takes to win a Super Bowl victory. I don't know anything about the political affiliations of the team or its owners / sponsors / etc...I'm guessing that some of the people in that photo are as proud as hell to be photographed with the Commander In Chief while others probably wish they were somewhere else.

Also the fact that having Bush speak about "serving the team rather than playing for themselves" seems a little odd at a time when we're in Iraq on his "make it happen" agenda.

Bush serves his team, if we define it as Cheney, "Kenny Boy," Rummy, etc. etc. etc. He's the last person I'd want to have lecture me on "the greater good." When he learns the lesson himself he can preach it to me.

Sorry if I pissed anyone off.
