Do you have images of other DUers in your mind?

The way you might have an image of what a radio announcer looks like, for instance?

For example: I have an image of TXLib based entirely on his moniker in me mind. I think he's a Yankee really, but I can't help seeing this cranky looking greaser with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth...I'd be cranky too if I were a liberal in Texas. I don't quite know where the greaser image comes from--and I mean greaser in the kindest way possible, TxL, if you're offended by this idea. Kind of like Mickey Rourke or Charles Bukowski. I guess what I'm trying to say, TxL, is I'd be really disappointed to find out you were shaven headed or had a blond crewcut, a goatee, and a crown of thorns tattooed around your left biceps.

TXLiberal doesn't look like a greaser, -even a Mickey Rourke-type greaser. But on the other hand, he isn't blonde, a skin-head, sporting a crew-cut or any kind of goatee in the photo I've seen.

This thread is allegedly about how one pictures a person one hasn't seen.

about the 'pictures in one's mind.' I'm just saying he doesn't look like that. His wife posted a picture of them at the Texas Redistricting protest a few days ago.

It was nice to put faces with names. But I lost my link to the Gallery when DU2 was implemented, and I haven't gotten around to PM'ing GregW for the link.

I definitely have images in my mind's eye of what certain DU'ers look like. For you BurtWorm, I have it in my head that you look like Sid Blumenthal. This is because when I first noticed you, you were posting about The Clinton Wars. And I teasingly asked you if you were Sid. You of course said no, but the image of him comes into my mind everytime I see a post of yours. That's a good thing, BTW. I admire Sid tremendously, and he's easy on the eyes as well!

Though I've heard once that I looked like George Stephanopoulos, I'd rather look like Blumenthal.

It was the name! The name threw me off.

I was named that by a boyfriend in HS (actually an illicit relationship behind his girlfriends back) it is a long story about a japanese foreign exchange student who couldn't pronounce my nic-name, a group trip to see One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest and his fascination with certain body parts reminiscent of the name Ches.

When it was time to choose a DU name that one came to mind, I have no idea why.

regarding the awesomeness of Ms. Garofolo, I would be more than honoured for you all to imagine I look like her, considering I've only heard that about 1.6 katrillion times in my life.

Although due to where I live and the COMPLETE lack of any pop-cultural knowledge beyond Eminem and whatever the latest reality TV show is, I usually get "Hey, you look like that one girl that was in that movie about dogs...or cats....or something...you know, the not-hot one, with the glasses..." or something to that effect. :eyes:

I used to get a lot of "You look like Jeremy Irons," and was always flattered to hear it.

That pic is over a year old now so I ought to replace it. If my hair would turn white all over, I'd let it even though it would make me look older. But it's doing it just at the temples and I'm afraid I'd look like some kind of deranged Pepe Lepew.

I can't decide if gray pubic hair is a sign of impending doom or just a sign of impending wax.

My best friend in college had a gray chunk in the front (soph year) and her hair went all the way down to her butt. It looked kinda cool.
