At the risk of starting a flame war/PA fest

Why are people have such strong feelings about fat--their own and other people's? Just wondering.

1. its the marketing mentality we live with

Being fat and plump was once considered beautiful (Rubens painted many a plump lady) but now the empty headed masses are being led into another maze of insecurity by the misled claims of fat being ugly.
Since people are generally empty headed, they need something to fill their otherwise vapid lives, and so a crusade to eliminate fat gives them a goal in life.

Sometimes, insecurity turns people into assholes. Sometimes, they are born that way.

Either way, pay no attention. People who pick on other people for any reason are shallow misguided folk who probably have very little going on in their minds.

(I apologize for my Speedo comment the other day if you caught it. I was just being really goofy and lecherous, I really didn't mean to imply I wanted every guy to go to the gym to get Speedo worthy for me. I know that was a rather dumb-ass thing to say. :freak: )

6. Oh, no one's picking on me

...at least, not to my face. I just read some poeple's comments about fat, both here and other places, and just have to wonder why their feelings are so strong.
