Behold! The basic beauty of a BLT sandwich...

Folks, I am craving one of these right NOW... on toasted plain ol' white bread, slathered with mayo...

The butcher across the street sells applewood smoked bacon, thickly sliced... I think that sounds good...

Now for some crisp leaves of lettuce, and juicy, red, succulent tomatoes... oozing with tomatoey goodness...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......... *drool*

4. Absolutely!
Except we call them "BALT's"

The creamy avocado is the perfect accompaniment for the ideal sandwich. Can't wait until my tomatoes start ripening...

9. Really?
I've never had that. Doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't sound right, if you know what I mean. I'll have to try that sometime. Hell, you can't hurt a sandwich that has bacon on it.

Bacon would be good with tire rubber and rotten shark meat. On roof shingles. With or without mayo.

3. OMG I can't wait for the
tomatoes! My husband and I were talking about this the other day. NOTHING is better than a Kansas tomato fresh and warm from the garden. Add bacon, lettuce, mayo and some great, thick bread slices and heaven!

8. Soon it'll be time for tomato sandwiches!
Whole-what bread, a THICK slice of vine-ripened tomato fresh from the garden and , of course, Hellmans* Real Mayonnaise! Stand over the kitchen sink when you eat 'em, and let the juice run down your arms! *drool* :)

15. Hijacking thread: What seasonings do you use in your mayo?
I made my first batch yesterday with malt vinegar (what I had - it was that or basalmic
:eyes: ) Colman's english mustard powder, a pinch of cayenne, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar. (According to the Fanny Farmer Cookbook. The houseguest finished the mayo, put the empty jar back *grrrrrrrrrrr* and I had the tuna fish ready to go.... )

It was okay, but nothing to write home about.

What do you suggest to improve it?
