Sirius users: Questions
I'm planning on getting Sirius for my car.

I know they have tunners that you can use in your car and home. How do you install it?

I don't have a cassette player in my car and some of the tuners I've seen have to be powered by a cassette adaptor.

Any info would be great.

1. I have the JVC unit
and it's really simple. Just tune to a specific channel on FM and turn on the reciever. No car radio mods at all.

2. It's an FM tuner
you have to run a wire from the antennae to the docking station on your dash or console. then there are like 3 choices of frequencies, just tune to that frequency and voila. the plug and play is nice. when i got it they had a rebate, buy 1 docking station, get the other free. the home docking station plugs into your stereo or computer. it also has an antennae that you can mount outside, though we get decent reception with it pointing at a window.

email me if you need any additional info. or for more info on all things sirius, i'd check out siriusbackstage.com - a fan message board. they also have reviews of the various models, which i found helpful.

3. Definitely go to Siriusbackstage.com
those folks are great, plus someone there may be able to hook you up with the Friends and Family deal where you basically get a home unit, car unit, and the tuner itself for about $50!

Some of the plug & play units now are wireless. Super simple installation; you attach the car unit somewhere in your car with velcro or screws or sticky-back tape, run the power to your cigarette lighter, and tune in the appropriate frequency on your FM radio. Those ones are a snap, but the sound won't be quite as good as a hardwired connection.

Welcome to the world of satellite radio! You'll never look back. Terrestrial radio SUCKS by comparison!
