Since I live a block off campus and they're the only Division 1-AÅ team within several hundred miles....they're mediocre at 1-AA but when Division 2 were pretty good...and will not forget Pokey Allen, great coach who died of cancer too young...

...Pokey left PSU for BSU? sorry for possibly hijacking your thread in re divisions but Pokey was a great coach and personalitywise, he did so much publicizing his teams ("If you don't support us I'll send a meteor to your house") plus betting his salary upon season attendance one season...

Everybody liked Pokey, when he finally succumbed to a rare cancer it was front page news here in Portland, he was way too young to die...he was quite the personality, someone who I would have liked to know personally...

13. Florida International
About five miles from my parents' house in southwest Miami, where I grew up.

Don Strock is the head coach and Tony Nathan on staff. That's two-thirds of the famous flea flicker play in the '81 playoffs vs. San Diego, missing only Duriel Harris.

I think FIU is headed to Division 1 within a few years.
