Friends of mine passing vomit-inducing RW "fable" as high wisdom (help!)
About a chicken that makes bread, all the other animals refuse to help it along the process because they're lazy and then go on to whine injustice when the chicken wants to charge for the bread. The Big Bad Government intervenes and forces the poor "victim" chicken to give bread for free to all "deadbeats".

It came as a PowerPoint file, in Portuguese. I CLEARLY remember having seen it before, in text form, and I ALSO remember reading a snappy liberal retort to it.

Ring any bells?

2. This is not only overly simplistic ...
It is a false analogy ...

The notion that liberals are 'lazy' is clearly wrong since MOST liberals are in fact well educated and are paid well (when there are jobs ... ) ...

Change the story thusly:

The Chicken decides to make bread: all the local flour producers offer him flour, but the chicken is only interested in cheaper flour made in a country like Malaysia, where Millers are paid a tenth of the value of locally produced flour, forcing the local millers to go bankrupt: after which those flour producers and their families now have no money for bread ...

The chicken, having baked his bread with cheap foreign flour, now colludes with other bread bakers to set prices artificially high, all the time insisting they did not collude even though the video tapes show them clearly conspiring together, and trading money and favors ...

The poor 'other animals', having been priced out of the market, and surrounded by greedy and illmannered dolts of chickens, have a choice ...

They can go hungry ? ... or: they can kill the damned chicken: fry his greedy arse up and sell what they dont eat to the highest bidder ...

Mmmmm .. FRIED chicken ! ....

3. I remember the story as a children's fable

called "The Little Red Hen". There's no government involvement though, the Red Hen winds up with all the bread to herself.
