My dog has died.
After fourteen long years the family dog, Jo-Jo, has died. He had been sick for a couple of days, and died very quietly on the front porch. I'm glad, at least, that it was relatively quick. But I'm sad that I've lost a companion.

Goodbye Jo-Jo. I'll miss you.

7. I can relate....
My old boy (14, too) gave up the ghost a few weeks back. We got him as a puppy when our kids were 2 and 3. They took it real hard. Damn, they really do become part of the family. I miss him on our woods walks.....

Best wishes.

9. I'm so very sorry, elperromagico, about the loss of your special friend.
These little guys just get into our hearts and stay there. Even after they leave us, they're always there.

Thanks to you for giving Jo-Jo a good home and tons of love. You know he appreciated it.

I know that you're really experiencing a big loss. My kindest wishes to you during this tough time.

13. My sympathy to you. But your Jo-Jo will have good company...
I have several wonderful buds waiting to greet Jo-Jo and join them in watching over us as the guardian angels that they must surely be. Remember the pleasure Jo-Jo brought to you to soften your pain. Best wishes. I've been there, but for all the pain that comes when they pass, the happiness I get from my little darlings is always worth it!

let it consume you. It's real easy. lost my two dogs, one after another about 2 yrs ago. They were old It broke me up. It felt like the second one died of a broken heart. They were old and awesome. Now, when I see other dogs, I give them lots of attention.

26. The Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

i've felt that pain. we nurture love and protect them, then watch them die. sometimes we even have to decide their death.
