We have a new sheriff, and it's a woman!

BIG surprise last night at the County Board meeting. My boss (the county's only elected countywide Democratic office-holder) resigned to become the deputy director for the IL Dep't of Corrections, effective this past Monday. 3 people applied for the vacancy--- a former sheriff, the current chief deputy and the SD's administrator. All 3 were given a chance to speak to the board last night, and did; after they spoke, the chairman aksed for a motion and a second, and our administrator's name was moved, seconded and approved unanimously!

Great going, Sandy! You're gonna be one helluva sheriff!:thumbsup:
