YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHAAAWWWWW: Evita's bat tested NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a call from Delaware public health and the bat that Evita killed tested negative for rabies. That means no rabies vaccinations for me either although I did take both cats in for rabies booster shots (hey, they're now good for 3 years on that shot)

Rabies is a scary disease.

I assume you've fixed the bat-entry problem, though.

I'm happy you don't have to get shots, but Evita's probably freaked out now. She thought she did something good, and she got a shot for it. Poor confused kitty.

I had a cat that once caught a bat on my parents' patio. I was out there with a date and I think Howard was jealous for my attention and wanted to show off.

He was up to date on his shots so I didn't have to take him for a booster at that time.

She gets all high & mighty when the crowds start chanting "Evita, Evita, Evita" because she is now starting to recognize her name. She thinks they are calling out for her!

I love that.

Cosmo is starting to recognize his name. Ricco might take a while. I sometimes mess up and call him Mickey.

although they're not sure which one is which - they'll respond to both

He's a great and mild kitty and I think I'll soon be getting him a female companion (don't worry, all neutered) for friendship while I'm away earning the Cat Food.

He seems to look a bit like your kitty Abbott:

"Domestic Shorthair"/Tabby colored, with white feet, chest, and lower face.

Cool zebra-stripes up his hindquarters.
Tiger-stripes on his head and forequarters.
A tail that has black and grey rings something lika a raccoon's.
From the base of his tail, a thick black stripe running from his back to his shoulders, where it dissloves in the tiger-stripes on his grey/white/silver back.

Hopefully, in this case, "1000 words will have to be worth a pciture" until I get a digital cam.

THEN Agent Mike and Heinrich A$$cru$t can get his picture in the File of Subversive Kitties.

Also, I found it quite disturbing that the ASPCA FORCED ME to have him microchipped. I swear I was this close to turning him down for that reason alone.

But I didn't, so if the Busheviks ever come after me and I'm forced to run, the little guy will be Left behind.

(God, remember when such thoughts about the future were ludicrous and laughable? may they one day return to being so)
