The quail are out there again. All's right with the world.

Do you ever have an event that just gives your spirit a lift? It's that way with me and the quail. I just seem to worry that the environment or something has gone bad or is about to go bad if the quail don't come to feed.

It used to be antelope when I would go back and forth between the church in Dell City and El Paso. If the antelope herd was not visible, things just seemed to be disturbed and unnatural.

But today the quail are there.

Do you have some event that lifts your spirits and reassures you that things will be all right?

1. The Metro Parking lot at Greenbelt was full of geese today....

It gave me a smile, at least..I can see some harried SUV-burdened commuter trying to honk the horn at a goose to get him to move out of the last parking space, and the goose honking back, as if to say "So sue me..."

2. Yes.

It's not really an event. It's just when I find a spot on a hill or a rock or a tree, with no people/traffic around, and sit for awhile. Everything is put back into perspective, and I'm able to go back to the human world with more serenity.

a 'couple' just had some babies, and they're so cute scurrying around ... I put out something for them to eat, and the Daddy will come close to the sliding glass door to peer in
