The Puppy has landed and she's wonderful!!!!
I never thought I would say this about a 7 week old puppy but "Tinker" is wonderful, brilliant and very happy here! She bonded right away with my 14 year old black lab/ collie, Gypsy, and now she runs along beside her everywhere like a little pilot fish. She also seems to be getting along pretty well with the two cats. She is quite smart and has learned a great deal about peeing outside... (I am still getting these dime sized little accidents), knows her name and "no", and she is really good with people and other dogs. She also falls asleep in my lap almost immediately. BAN ME FROM DU BECAUSE YOU WILL GET REALLY TIRED OF MY RAVINGS ABOUT TINKER!!!

PS: "Tinker" is what the Irish call a gypsy. Since I already have my beloved Gypsy, I though the name would fit perfectly. Will has named all of my pets...this time I found my own! :-)

3. Damn, no. I have a digital camera and
it's sitting right here in front of me with the light blinking green. I just don't know how to work it. Will is due up here tomorrow so I have it in mind to make him show me how to take pictures and then how to get them on the web. YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

8. That's what I do, Raven
My son has to teach me everything about computers. And you'll have to get Tinker's pic because DU will have a pet photo site.

6. Tinker's mother is a yellow lab, her dad is a white standard poodle.
I'm hoping that the gene combination is a charm!

7. Congratulations!

On getting Tinker! She sounds like a love. But do you realize that 7 weeks is too young for her to be away from her mother? Puppies should be with their mothers for at least 8 weeks after birth. Also, puppies do not have the muscular control to keep from urinating in the house until they are about 4 months old. Take special care of this one, be very protective and vigilant, as she is very young to be in your home away from her mama. I would love to see pictures!

ETA: Max is a cutie!

9. She is young but
I have heard between 7 and 8 weeks and that after that you loose some influence. She has had two fairly good nights, waking only once at about 2 am and then sleeping until 7 am. She seems to be ok with being in new surroundings and has bonded with me and with Gypsy. Time will tell, I guess, and so far, so good.
