Edited on Fri May-28-04 01:24 AM by Mobius
a stupid tone deaf freak. How can you deny the lyric and musical mastery of a band such as them? I mean really? Why do some people hate U2? I think it''s because they are jealous of thier success, and are living in a musical shell.
What really gets me are the morons that rip on Bono's humanitarian work, like he's doing it to be in vogue or something. Take your brain out of the crapper and read up. Bono went to Africa in 1985 and has been its champion for 20 years while writing some of the best thought provoking music ever written.

5. I like their 80's material best.
I also like their newer stuff like their last album. I cannot believe it has been almost 4 years since U2 came out with an album. But their '80's material was great especially The Joshua Tree.

Ewwww. I know some gals dig him, and I suppose he does good work, but U2 ain't for me in general. I'm sure there's a song or two I like.

11. Old or new?
Boy/October/War are excellent.

So is The Joshua Tree and Achtung, Baby! The Unforgettable Fire is a little uneven but "Wire" and "Bad" are brilliant.

I thought Popmart blew chunks, though.

BTW, they are all devout Christians, except for Adam.

than I did...I loved the first 3, thought Unforgettable Fire was pretty great...they lost me with Joshua Tree, though. Pop drivel, just really kinda lost the fire, IMO...now they just make me :boring:

Remember, kids...some day YOU'LL get to be old and grouchy too!:D

edited cos Whitacre's clearly had more coffee than me, and now his post doesn't make any sense. :P

17. You are wrong.
Achtung Baby was (by far) their best album since Boy.

The Joshua Tree... now THAT's pop drivel!

24. Achtung baby
Is a near masterpiece IMO , I didn't buy it , someone left it after a party. Didn't think much of it at first. But after I intalled a cd changer + a good pioneer head then listened on some long drives. It became clear to me it is a superb effort that grows on you once you become more familiar with it.
