1. Is that the herbal remedy?
If so, my sister tried it and it didn't work. But she's tried everything under the sun so that isn't surprising.

3. I recommend Zyban.
In my opinion, it's a wonder drug.

Next Tuesday I will not have smoked for 4 weeks. That's the longest I've gone without smoking since I was 14. I'm almost 32 now.

Even better, I really didn't WANT to stop smoking, but Zyban not only made it so I didn't want to smoke, it made it so I don't think about it at all.

Anyway, you've already stopped, so if you've been on the wagon for awhile you may not be interested in Zyban... but if you are, I say it rocks!

5. Another happy Zyban customer hee!
PD's experience is a lot like mine. I quit 14 1/2 months ago, haven't missed them a day.

That Zyban was just like something shoved a cork in the nicotine hole in my brain.

If your health plan won't pop for Zyban, see if your sawbones is the sympathetic kind and will give you Welbutrin SR. Same stuff, but it's cheaper and insurance covers it when they won't Zyban.

6. Yes, by script only.
But, like BiggJawn says (and what a clever way to say it, too!) it's like corking the nicotine hole in the brain!

I also agree with what he says re: insurance purposes, if you have insurance. My doc wasn't sure if my coverage handled Zyban for quitting smoking, so he erred on the side of caution and prescribed me Wellbutrin. Exactly the same thing - different name.

For BiggJawn - Over a year later, are you still on it? If not, how long have you been off it, and did you have the same lack of interest about smoking after going off as you did when you were on?

7. Been off it for a year now.
I was on it for 3 weeks before "D-Day", and i continued it for another 6 weeks afterwards.

I have NO interest in smoking at all. In fact, the shit stinks and makes my eyes sting when I'm in a smokey place.

Oh, Gawd...I'm gonna become one of those hand-waving "koff-koff" assholes, I can see it now....

9. Yeah, I did.
I was smoking "Drum" cigs from a home-roller tube-stuffer.

Man, that was some GOOD 'baccy!

but I look at like this:
A whole shitload of Indiana ReTHUG state legislators now have to buy their OWN fucking steak dinners since I'm not giving them all that tax money anymore...

11. We;;butrin didn't work for me.
Doctor gave me a whole bagful of samples. Didn't stop the nicotin craving.

10. Zyban made me feel as if on an emotional flatline
Zyban is an antidepressant. I tried it, and really felt as if I was on an emotional flatline...reminded me of what someone with an EKG flatline looks like. I had no feeling, no enthusiasm. Am not a depressed person, and I think that's why it affected me in that way. Started tapering off after three weeks as i absolutely did not like the hollow-care feeling I was experiencing.

13. Zyban is Da Shiznit
Out of about 20 people I've met who used it, only one got no response, and he has many other problems which require frequent drugging.

My Mother smoked from the time she was 14 and tried several dozen times to stop. Three weeks on Wellbutrin -- which is Zyban, marketed as an anti-depressant -- and she just stopped smoking. Lost all interest in the nicotine kick. Damnedest thing she ever experienced from a drug.

14. Well...
I need to do something...I tried the gum once...that shit was nasty...didn't try the patch...I know several people who tried it and said it had no effect...

I have tried cold turkey so many times it's not even funny...the longest I went was one week...I was the most miserable bastard...

I just can't stop the cravings...the longest I can go is three hours before I turn into psycho Max...so I guess I'm going to see the doc and get some of the Zyban...it's my last shot at quitting...
