a co-worker of mine is in the process of setting up her own home business and is in need of some recommendations...
she makes custom artificial flower arrangements for weddings, anniversaries, any occassion...
this won't be a 'store-front' operation -- flower arrangements are all customized for a specific customer and occassion so there won't be "foot traffic" nor will there be an inventory of supplies to track. materials and supplies are bought as needed for each job.
I've been helping her out by designing her business cards and other marketing advertisements...
ok --- so what she needs now is an inexpensive-easy to use bookkeeping software - by inexpensive I mean real cheap to free ----preferably the software will be able to generate invoices/sales forms too ----it doesn't need to be able to print checks, but should have the capability of reconciling checkbooks
she doesn't expect alot of bookkeeping activity, just enough to track income/expenses and sales tax
I know alot of this could all be done in excel or similar spreadsheet program, but my co-worker is not that good with computers -- so the simpler the better
she also needs some "templates" of contracts/agreements for her customers/clients. She's recently had a job "under the table", verbal agreement, got half the money up front, bought and made all the arrangements, then the wedding was "postponed" along with the remainder of the payment.. With no LEGAL CONTRACT/AGREEMENT she is SOL....
any recommendations for bookkeeping and legal contract/agreement templates?
