Need a little unbiased help please.

For anyone that is familiar with this disney message board.

This board is now closed to new Posts

We are constantly evaluating the various boards on the DIS to
make sure that they further our primary purpose, Disney travel
planning and a Disney community.
It has become apparent that the Debate board has not added to
that purpose for some time.
Because of this we have made a decision to close the debate
board. It will remain in place in a "read only" format.
Any debates on any of the other boards on the DIS will be required
to strictly follow DIS posting policy. Here is a link to that policy for
those that are not familiar with it:

if you look down the list of current topics do you see any that may be responsible for the board being closed ?

big companies like bush. They dissed bush on that board.

I didnt see anything there that made me want to travel...is that the goal of the site?

The debate board developed out of their community board which is like the lounge here.
Then there were topics that about current events and such that the less worldly got upset reading about and thus the debate board came to exist. or so it seemed.

I used to hang out on alot of football boards, they tried to do the same thing, some still do. but most stopped, too many hard feelings, people would camp there only and argue, etc....totally off topic, it would carry over. maybe thats what they are looking at, who knows...

I can see why they might want to pull it. Plus it costs them nmoney to run, and they have to ask, 'Is it worth the cost of being associated with such political discussions?'

Wouldn't be surprised if they were getting emails from the lefties and the righties about "How can you allow such america-hating crap on your site?" and "This guy is talking violence!" etc.

People WILL associate other people's posts as being "condoned" by Disney.

Do I think it's right, either for Disney or for complainers? No, not necessarily. But if that's the case, I can understand Disney wanting to end it.

And if it's the case that Disney simply doesn't want to spend the money on it, I can see that as well.

a guy started it a long time ago then turned it into a funnel to feed people to a travel service he started just for trips to Orlando and Disney in particular.

But no, I don't think there was anything that would lead one to think that, ipso facto, the board needed to be shut down. idnd't see any forthing, glaring abusers or anything there.

Probably a tired guy.

Or else a guy who some freeper trash, or group thereof, continually threatened him for allowing "America hating scum" on the board to "spread their lies" and "Tell the terraists that we've lost our resolve".

As second in command of thread killers R us, there was some hope that moof had dealt the death knell to the debate board there.

Used to post there a lot before 9/11 and just today posted a couple
threads there to sort of counter balance the Gore mental stability thread there, Any way the second thread went up got locked and they close the whole board within a half hour. Since no one singled out any partricular post as being extra brutal with the truth it does not seem credit can be added to the knotched keyboard.
