I had Kid A by Radiohead on the stereo while I was reading DU, and the album flowed into track 8 - Idioteque (Kid A is pretty much one song broken up... if you listen to it, you hear the Dark Side of the Moon effect). It's probably my favorite part of the album because just on its own, it stands as an incredible blend of three or four different musical events.
Anyone who's familiar with the song knows about its very intense and consistent beat. Well, just as the song was starting, about 5 seconds into the track, a car alarm went off outside the house. Ordinarily, this would be a PITA and I'd get pissed off, but the alarm happen to go off right on beat, and now there was this amazing effect that I can't exactly describe in words... but I think I achieved musical listening nirvana.
