4. I am not kidding about this
Edited on Sun May-30-04 03:55 PM by Marianne
I am not particularly fond of cats, but sort of neutral. I prefer dogs for pets.

There has been a disappearance of domestic cats on my road here. Three of them simply disappeared.

Then, someone saw what happened to them all

A Fisher

has been attacking the cats and carrying them off to parts unknown for a tasty supper. Someone witnessed the fisher attacking his cat. Someone also went hunting and killed the fisher which to my way of thinking was unfortunate because the poor thing was only trying to survive.

I also saw a coyote chasing a domestic cat, which, fortunatly escaped, only to later fall prey to the fisher.

5. I'm sorry about the fisher, too...
they are beautiful animals, and their numbers are sadly dwindling. Cats, however, are another matter altogether. Even pro-cat sources admit there are 40 - 60 MILLION feral cats in this country.

6. If you live near nature ...

You should keep your small pets in enclosed (safe) areas. Keep your large dogs out to keep the predators away.
