that that was my fantasy of late. Running off to follow NOFX and dyeing my hair black and running around in leather and combat boots, but my son said, "mom old ladies can't dye their hair black." It was hysterical. I have officially been labelled an "old lady" by my son!

I should just get back to jamming with people on the drums, that ought to do it!

Of course, if I were eight, my opinion on this matter would probably be different. ;)

It was just very funny. I am somewhat older than a lot of parents of 8 year olds, though, since we were too busy going to clubs, school and playing in bands to have kids as early as some folks. Most of my friends waited a while to have kids, too. There used to be a t-shirt that read, "Oh my god, I forgot to have children!" That was us, the old school punks/ new wavers.

Don't want 'em. I haven't gotten my googlies snipped, since who knows if I'll want kids when I'm 45 (like you -- ha ha ha, just kidding :P).

But I surely don't want 'em now.

Far more interested in "going to clubs, school and playing in bands" -- okay, not school, I got my BA in '97, no interest in any more.

We finally decided that we should try to have a kid and we did when we were ready. But we enjoyed ourselves before we did, didn't really feel like we had to, and we have a different kind of fun now. A little less wild and crazy, but never dull. Kids are tiring, but they keep you on your toes.

I probably miss playing music the most; I don't really mind about the club thing, although it would be fun to see more bands. Plus the Arts Festival is coming up here starting this weekend and Patti Smith is playing on the 6th, for free! That is pretty cool. Also Wilco later on. THey usually have some great music at the Arts Festival.

Rock and roll now, that's another matter. But it is fun to see my son enjoy all the crazy music we listen to.
