Have you ever had a dream so vivid and real...
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 10:46 AM by VelmaD
that you weren't quite sure when you woke up that you were really awake? The last thing I dreamed right before I woke up this morning was like that. And the only way I knew I was really "awake" was that the dream was so much nicer than my real life today. *sigh* My skin is still tingling.

I'm given to understand that most people don't dream in color, much less in all 5 senses with surround sound and smell-o-vision. :) Just curious if this same thing happens to anyone else around here.

1. I still don't believe that anyone dreams in black and white
Today's generation would probably not make those claims. Only those of us who grew up with b/w TVs. It makes no sense to me, since b/w doesn't exist in nature! Unless you count twilight, which really isn't black and white, to my eyes at least.

5. I wonder if you're right
I've heard that all my life. Also heard that most people don't have smell and touch and taste the same way in dreams. My ex used to bug me all the time about participating in dream research because mine are so vivid and I almost always remember what I dream.

2. I've dreamed that I woke up when I didn't.
Most of my dreams are when I am just barely asleep. I'm asleep, but not all the way in a deep sleep. I'm just over the edge. That is when I dream the most.

3. OhYeah. I've had that happen.
Though not very often, and typically with regard to the subject which shall not be explored. :7

it's just worse when it's the subject which shall not be explored. :)

4. Just this morning
I dreamed that the whole cast of That 70s Show came to my house in a bus to visit me in the middle of the night.

Well, not exactly MY house, but my parents' house where we lived in the 70s. My now-deceased stepfather and mother were trying to sleep. I was showing off some kind of music box I'd invented. The only song it played was the simple sad-sounding tune played by the little box in the Clint Eastwood film The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Cat on my feet. Too warm. Time to wake up.

Just wondering.

9. I dream in color, feel pain, all of it.
Sometimes it's good, sometimes bad, being decapitated in dreams usually wakes me up rather suddenly.

11. At least decapitation is quick...
The one I really hate is the dream that I get shot and I wake up with a searing pain/cramp in whatever body part I got shot in.

14. So, who's gonna volunteer to pinch me...
to see whether or not I'm really awake? I still feel like if I close my eyes and then open them again...I'm not sure which "reality" I'll wake up in. :)

30. There's nothing, well not much, ok there's quite a lot of things better
than climbing into bed with clean, white, cotton, sheets after a long bath on a cool summer evening, but it's lovely anyway. Of course with a freshly shaven texan girl already in there...

Any bed is better with a texan girl in it. ;)

And thanks for reminding me now much I'd rather be in a bubblebath right now instead of at work.

25. I have had many, many vivid dreams.
And then something has occurred that related to those dreams. I'm an atheist and most atheists do not believe in ESP or foreseeing future events. But I have had too many dreams which tied into something happening relating to those dreams.
