1. A scary concept, but I must say that Faith Hill is the perfect....
person to play a "Stepford Wife". Afterall, the Dixie Chicks proved that you have to be a GOOD "Stepford Woman" to survive in Nashville, and Faith is the perfect Stepford Woman. She didn't come out against the Furher Bush and performed for the troops too, the second is a good thing.

I will not be seeing this Hitleresque garbage!

3. I'm Eagerly Awaiting This One...
The TV ads make it appear that they are purposely going for camp... where the original movie attempted to be serious (but ended up being a bit campy).

Or am I just projecting my own hopes?

10. IIRC
It's directed by Frank Oz, so you'd be rather safe in thinking that.

4. I don't have a good feeling about it.

I don't like Paul Rudnick who writes this version. I don't think he's as funny as he seems to think he is. I'll watch it on video one day. Maybe.
I'm a big fan of the original.

15. Another film that doesn't need a remake...
how many films do, anyway? Any Hollywood remake of a European (ie in a different language - shock!) film that I've seen has been crap. Do they think that you folks can't watch something like the wonderful "Wings of Desire" 'cos it isn't in English (or rather, American)? The Travolta remake, the name of which I've forgotten, was just laughable. And they took "Nikita" and turned it into some garbage with Bridget Fonda. But it was garbage in English, so I guess that's OK.

The original Stepford Wives was pretty good other than the terrible performance by Nanette Newman - but then she was the director's wife. Why don't they just leave things alone? I'm waiting in dread for the remake of Citizen Kane starring Brad Pitt or some jerk from "Friends"
