LOL, "But I don't have nearly enough cats..."
In Googling for the time for "high tea," the droll article linked below popped up, with the line,

"But I don't have nearly enough cats..."

which just SHOUTED "DU Lounge!"

2. NOT Flaming, Just Passing Along, fwiw
I do NOT dislike cats and downright admire people who love cats (and almost all animals), but for the sake of general knowlege:

This mental health expert was teaching a class about when it's appropriate for family therapist types to seek out a mental health court order for treatment. She went through many sample situations that were not clear cut, a lot of times it comes down to experience and individual judgment.

But she was rock clear on ONE situation: She said that if you walked into a house and there were 10, 20, or more cats---------don't even conduct an interview, go directly to the court and petition for an Order ON THE SPOT!

Didn't mean to turn the whimsical link into a downer, and I SWEAR I'M NOT anti-cat/cat-people.

3. when they pluck my kitties

from my cold, dead hands.

she's certainly no expert; just has her own reality set.

i run a shelter rescue operation for feral cats. i won't mention a head count, but when she visits, she better have a warrant & a swat team.

i do my own shots: all are spay/neutered. i have 3 years of bills saved & plan to apply for charitable tax-protection (i receive no donations and sell no cats; i carry the burden, & hope to recoup a smidge). i have a business license, though i conduct no business.

pardon me, but fuck that opinionated, under-educated,generalizing, catch-phrase spouting bitch.

this is just media-hype "animal hoarding" hysteria.

this rant is certainly not intended toward you, please take no offense.

5. LOL to Don and Peace to jukes
But the "expert" was referring specifically to isolated individuals who have scads of cats inside their houses-----you know, cats on the kitchen table and counters, cat crap everywhere, unattended, nobody-cared-for (cats, human, nobody).

I love what you do. Recently I became involved with some no-kill shelters for dogs. The kitties you keep are in shelter structures, no?---- The "expert" wouldn't be talking about you.
