That walmart commercial
:puke:

The close-up of the woman's face on how: (with my response)

Wal-mart moved into a building that had been abandoned for 5 years (Well, that's cheaper than tearing it down to build a new one like in Abu Gharib)

Wal-mart has given jobbbbs to the community (Nice $7 clerk jobs I suspect, how many get jobs that pay a living wage for one person, forget the talk of "family of four"?)

Wal-mart has given us a sense of hope in our community (false sense of hope, I should think. Pray that they don't see your community as not being profitable. That's when they'll leave...)

Jobs is one thing. Jobs worth having are another. If you can't live off the pay the job gives you, then it's not worth having. Wal-mart jobs are meant for 18 year olds living with mom and dad. Nobody else. Certainly not for people who need to live on their own!

1. Yep ...Truer words (yours) were never spoken.
Not only is wal-mart dishonest to their employees but also dishonest
in perpetuating their "Good Neighbor" Bullshit.

2. Quite. The "good neighbor" act (by many) is so phony...

"Good neighbor" bullshit is too right. They are so phony.

Thanks, though I wish I had more rosy comments for prime examples of American society and American way of life... :-(

The next time I have to be in that store, I might start asking questions... O8)

3. Don't forget that.....
When these Vampires move into town, they suck the economic life right out of Main Street.....
Run out family businesses that don't have thousands of stores, and therefore can't set prices on items so low that they actually lose money, since Mom and Pop stores don't subsidize each other until they run all competition out of town, and are then able to raise prices to make a profit, I won't even get into their (Wal-Mart's) use of slave labor in places like China and Malaysia, etc.....
It's despicable that these $7.00 an hour jobs (with un-attainable benefits) might be all that somebody has left after the family store they've run for generations is forced out of business.
A new Wal-Mart has just opened in an area of my state that I travel to often (Boonton, NJ), I'm going to be watching to personally see what happens on that town's Main Street, which is just about a few hundred feet from the Vampire.

4. Absolutely agree.
What good is it. Nothing. How about the fact that it destroys the jobs of small businesses so the net change of jobs due to a Wal Mart is negative.
