I'll never understand the older generation

My 73 year old mother just had both knees replaced; the operation was a success. Because of the surgery, she is on morphine. I went to visit her and see how she's doing.

She is on one of the most powerful opaites in the world. In your mind, you can do ANYTHING. So what going on in hers? She thinks she's at Wal-Mart!!

Where did I go wrong? :shrug:

2. My 78 year old Dad was given morphine recently

And he was catching bugs that were flying around the room!!! He's got Alzheimer's, so that added to the amusement! Thankfully he's off all pain meds now... But Monday it was 90 degrees and he saw two NUNS walking down the street. Turned out to be two lyrca-clad power walkers!!!

3. Beats having her scream at the dog to shut up.

Mrs. Throckmorton did that for three nights in a row once. Opened the french doors in the middle of the night and yelled at our dog, Pal, to shut up. Only problem was, Pal, was in the kitchen sound asleep, and had not made a peep all night.
