3. my example:
BUSH EATS JEW BABY HEART, DISSES JESUS
followed by a link to some yahoo news bit that doesn't particularly support the headline.

but seriously,
it's hard to be annoyed for long at all the good-spirited folks here just trying to share. bless you all for your efforts.

6. My Pet Peeve: Can't Believe What Just Happened On Hardball!
You open the thread and there is no real indication of what actually DID just happen on Hardball.

And then a bunch of people post stuff like:

Yeah, I can't believe he said that

:D

7. "BREAKING!!! TURN ON CNN/MSNBC", ETC.,
When I am at work. Or at home, since I refuse to pay for cable.

Please say WHAT is being reported, however briefly!

18. How about "BREAKING!!! TURN ON CNN/MSNBC", ETC., and then...
...absolutely NOTHING in the post itself to suggest what the #%()$!!! is "breaking" on CNN or wherever. Whole post consists of "You gotta see this!" or less. Yeah, like I'm gonna go rush to turn on my TV, only to find out you posted the damn thing 5 hours before I saw it? Sheesh!

I'm with you on this one, g.a.o.t.

12. Yeah, that's my pet peeve, too.
I think we're all well aware by now that freepers say really stupid things. It's hard for me to be shocked when they do it anymore.

10. Yes, I hate it when the titles are useless, and also

when the title is good, but there is no context as to the post, for example, commenting on someone on C-SPAN 4 or something like that, but not explaining which show or giving the channel etc.

11. Headlines That Spout Wingnut Talking Points
like, "Gore Lost His Own State" or whatever. Then the post says they really are not faulting Gore, are just pointing out what wingnuts are saying.

Yet, when a whole screen shows a bunch of wingnut talking points, ...

13. Or the vague/misleading headlines in LBN
Yes, the rules say you have to post stories with the original headline -- but there's nothing to prevent you from adding a word or two of explanation in parentheses.

I hate the headings that say things like "Mayor warns against terrorism threat" or "Government to require new regulations" and don't give any hint of what, where, or why I should care.

17. Yep, though what I hate even more
...are threads with an enigmatic title, then no content except a link and maybe an exclamation point.

If you're going to post a link to something, PLEASE give me an idea wtf it's supposed to be about! My general attitude is, if you were too lazy to bother, then your opinion as to what's worth linking to is, at the least, suspect, and 9 times out of 10 I won't bother clicking the damn thing.

posted, but whatever, I guess... or something...

I don't give a shit whether lounge thread titles reflect the contents of their threads, and in fact some lounge threads are funnier when their titles don't. This poll was originally posted in GD because of some GD threads with stupid titles.
