A day of mourning: a trip to one of the most beautiful malls in the world
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 01:44 PM by JCMach1
To honor Reagan's commitment to capitalism, we took my daughter to a birthday party at one of the most beautiful malls in the world... Wafi City, Dubai

It combines the the modern with ancient Egyptian themes and some of the chicest shopping anywhere...!

American Malls are SO boring... In Dubai, they are an artform.

4. Not here...
This is the most 'Peaceful' place I have ever lived in terms of kindness, etc.

One big bonus if finding out how much Arabs LOVE CHILDREN... You really have to leave the U.S. to figure out the States really doesn't care about children... even at the simple level of social interaction.

For example, you might come home to find a Sri Lankan gardener playing a game of tag with your kids. In America you would be worried about (what the heck is he up to). Here, it's just a game of tag!

There is some anti-Americanism... I would be lying to say there wasn't. But most people here UNDERSTAND that the source isn't Americans, but the people in charge.

I feel more nervous here seeing gangs of Navy guys on shore leave than I do about almost anything else.

Terrorist attacks in the UAE= 0

People here have no time for terrorism, it would take time away from making and spending money.

The government works hard to combat any Saudi spillover.

5. 90 is ancient history for here!
the things they have built and are building here make Las Vegas look reserved in comparison.
