Go see the Italian film "I'm Not Scared". Go right now - out the door
now - do the dishes when you get home. I haven't seen a movie this good in years - and I am a movie-going nut. Go now!!!!

1. Cool....
Brief description of the plot? But more importantly, what moved you to rave about it so: camera workd, script, acting, mood?

Thanks. Off to google the title. Will check back.

2. I hate to reveal anything - but if I must - its about southern Italy in
the 1970's - a poor village and a group of kids. Its scary, beautiful, and fascinating. The plot revolves around ....something that happens to one of them. No more - just go!!!!

3. Thanx
I skimmed a review. Found this at the end:

*********
"I'm Not Scared" features the same dark, childhood thrill-seeking as Victor Erice's "Spirit of the Beehive" (1973), a movie not nearly as popular as "E.T" but one that matches Spielberg's movie enchantment for enchantment. There, two Castilian girls hunt for Frankenstein's monster, after the James Whale movie classic comes to town. "I'm Not Scared" is more operatic. Watching it is like being lost in somebody's richly moody campfire story -- it's so good, in fact, that only once it's over do you realize you've been holding your marshmallows too close to the flame.
********

I adore "Spirit of the Beehive." If it's got anything near that magical awakening vibe set in the European country side, I'm there. Love Italian movies, in particualr, from romantic comedies of 60's to trashier stuff in the 70's to this directors "Mediterraneo" (sp?).

Thanks for the tip. Will see if it's playong here.

:toast:
