I got her into it after we started dating. Doesn't affect our relationship at all, to be honest, except that we have the same friends, which I guess does help.

And I'm quiet and you're nosy....

We all know that things can get a little intense around here. Are you able to leave it here?

foreigncorrespondent and I were together long before either of us joined DU. (We both lurked for the better part of two years, before joining up, separately, in 2002.)

Has it enhanced our relationship? Oh, I'd say so -- but we're in an unusual situation: Eleven months out of the year, we live 8,000 miles apart. While chatting online (during her afternoons and my evenings), we'll throw DU (and other) links back and forth ("You MUST read this!" ... "Look! This could really be the end for Bush*!" ..."OMG! Look at Rasputin's penis!") ... so I guess DU is responsible in part for giving us even more to talk about than we normally would (which is a lot -- we're both chatty as hell!).

When we're together, in person, neither of us logs on much (hey, we have us to attend to after such long stretches of separation!).

Incidentally, for the first year or so after we joined DU, we kept our relationship a secret. We figured that if one of us supported the other in a thread, neither of us would be taken seriously, because people would automatically assume we must agree with each other, because we're partners.

One day, I just got sick of the subterfuge, asked fc if she minded if we "came out" as a couple, and made a big ol' announcement about it -- to resounding applause. And I don't think the DU world knowing about us has undermined either of us. We are not joined at the hip -- and anybody even remotely familiar with us knows we are two very different individuals.

Fortunately (for us), our political views are nearly 100% spot-on. There are a few minor issues on which we disagree, but nothing earthshaking.

I guess that's one more way in which DU has enhanced our relationship: The vast variety of topics here has helped us realize just how much we do agree. On most things. :)

We were married before we came onboard. He was first, and got me into it.

I wouldn't say it's enahanced our relationship necessarily, since we were in love before, but it has given us lots to laugh about together, and that's always good.

Plus, we have many new friends to socialize with.

We met on DU, but never thought about a romantic thing until we met in person---we both continue to read DU daily, as usual.

have been a couple for almost five years now. I think there are a lot of couples here. And that's a great thing.

he reads more than he posts, but he was one of the original members, and I followed him here shortly thereafter. Has it enhanced our relationship? I don't know that it's altered it at all. We talk about DU sometimes, but mostly we each do our own DU thing - I hang out in the Lounge, and he reads Latest Breaking News.

He's my husband :D I don't know about 'enhanced', per se, but it does give us interesting things to talk about, and email links back and forth. Sometimes it cuts down on conversation, though, since one of us will say "oh, I saw blah-blah-blah on DU" and the other will say "yeah, I read that" and then we agree on whatever, and it's the end of the conversation, LOL. He actually got me into posting here, as I lurked over his shoulder for a long time and finally decided to just join...

Although he doesn't post as much as he used to. He's the one that introduced me to DU.
