What a cool town!
First of all my interview went great... I'm pretty sure I got the job, but we'll see.
After the interview I took some time to explore Tucson and I came up with a short list of good things about the place:
1. The water smells clean and actually rinses soap off of you. (After living in Orlando, this has become a new thing I check for!)
2. Good food - lots of nice restaurants it seems. I went to a Mexican place near E. Broadway and Wilmot (great margaritas!).
3. They have Chevrons! I have a Chevron gas card so this is really convenient.
4. It wasn't very hot... I had just been in Las Vegas last week where it felt like I was in an oven. Tucson was actually very comfortable.
5. Not a dry town like some places in DFW, TX - On my way back I stopped in Dallas to visit some friends and was appalled by their liquor laws. Apparently you can buy booze in Tucson until 1am - not great, but it'll do. /alcoholic off
6. Apparently they make an effort to cut down on light pollution so that the stars can be viewed easily. Kitt Peak is nearby - home to many observatories.
7. It's a college town! Woohoo!!! I love travelling. It always gives me the chance to people-watch a new group. There were lots of hotties.. heh heh
8. Close to cool places like Lake Powell, California, and Lake Havasu - ohhhh boy!
So it was a good time. I feel like a businessman I've been flying so much lately. If I get the job I'll be thrilled. I'm really freakin tired of Florida. =)
