1. I believe they said
"Hail to the Thief" would be the last Radiohead CD "as we know it" What that means is beyond me.

2. Much like Robert Smith saying 'this is the last Cure record'
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 02:19 PM by Screaming Lord Byron
which he's said after every record since about 'The Head on the Door'.
It's only a year since HTTT, though.

4. I believe that what it means is...
...that the next thing they do will be so utterly inscrutable that they'll only be releasing it on vinyl, since only super-serious collector-junkie types will be capable of understanding it.

3. Here's what I imagine they are doing....
Sitting around and playing cards and debating how long they need to have in between faux artsy pretentious crapola records so that people are actually fooled into believing they put time, effort, and thought into their records.

Feel free to commence the "You just don't get it!" responses. (for the record I own every one of their albums, have seen them 5 times live, and like plenty of challenging, pretentious artsy music by other bands. I just think Radiohead is way overrated).

6. You just don't get it!!!
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Do you really think "OK Computer" is overrated? I can understand why people might feel that way about "Amnesiac" and "Kid A" (hey, that might make a cool screen name...), but OK Computer?!?!?!?!? That album is absolutely flawless!!

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

8. wait...you saw them FIVE times?

11. I hate to say it, but
I though "Hail" was a disappointing album..plodding and dull. I was expecting a return to their more guitar-oriented stuff. I don't know, it just sounded imcomplete to me.

28. The first two times were great......
After Pablo Honey, and I believe The Bends. I love both of those records and live they were captivating, energetic, and they brought the rock. The engaged the crowd, they moved, they preened. It was awesome.

The third time was hoping it would be like the first two but it wasn't. They were starting to get into their "We're so artsy" phase. The final two times were with friends at their urging.

I just have no desire to watch the Thom Yorke twitching show while the other dudes noodle around on their instruments.

12. I had tix to the D.C. show a few years ago when it was rained out.
Bullrun Park in August 2001. The park got about 1.5 inches of rain in less than an hour. it was so sad. I ended up in a diner eating napoleons and drinking black coffee while I read the evening edition. The waitress didn't know who Radiohead was, but she was very sympathetic.

14. Here's what's going on:
Jonny Greenwood just signed a deal with the BBC to be the "official composer" for the network. What that means I have no idea. He also just did the music for a film called "Bodysong".

Thom Yorke and his girlfriend had a son a few years ago, so I imagine he's spending time with his family.

As for the other three blokes, I have no idea. I think Ed O'Brien wanted to do a solo album a while ago, but I don't know what became of that.

"Immerse your soul in love."

18. I saw them in 1995. Who's more indie-anal than me?
I just bet there's someone out there who saw every date on the Pablo Honey tour or something. Still, I liked them before you did. All of you. In fact, I liked them before they liked themselves.

20. I didn't become a fan until OK Computer.
I even had a copy of "The Bends" but for some reason never gave it a chance. Now it's one of my Top 10 favorite discs.

26. Oh, I've got them all now....
And a couple of imports.

I just mean that they really didn't come around for me until OKC, even though I already had "The Bends".

I too have seen them. At the Ariel Theater in Houston, in 98 I think. Only about 3000 in the audience. My wife and I took our two sons to see them. They were 10 and 7 at the time.

23. I loved them before they were born
just on the off-chance they might turn into a great rock group. In fact, I used to hang around the kindergartens and playschools of Oxford forcing toy instruments upon unsuspecting toddlers in the vain hope one might be Jonny or Ed.
