LONDON -- Actress Alicia Witt models what is claimed to be the most expensive hat ever made, the $2,700,000 Champrau d'Amour, by celebrity couture hat designer Louis Mariette, at Christies in London. The hat, which is covered entirely in dazzling diamonds and inspired by entwined ivy and bluebells, is not for sale at auction. (06/14/04 AP photo)

7. I wouldn't wear it
It's ugly. Most hats are ugly. It's just not the time for couture hats right now.

The only hats worth wearing are baseball caps, wide-brimmed ones to keep the sun off your face, and cowboy hats for the same reason in the proper setting. Women usually don't wear them anyhow, except to keep from getting sunstroke.

Yuck is all I can say about that monstrosity above. The front of it looks like something out of Beetlejuice.
