You have to read my freeper friend's email to me.
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 09:01 PM by PinkTiger
I asked him, if he though Dubya was such a loser, who he was going to vote for. This is what he said: I'd appreciate it if anyone could refute the "facts" and "logical thinking" he displays.

"I will cast a vote against JOHN KERRY, not for G. BUSH.  The majority of Vietnam vets will do likewise, if they vote at all.  Kerry sold us out in 'Nam & threw in with Hanoi Jane.  Protest is one thing, aiding & abetting is quite another.  He additionally shot a fleeing VC in the back; purpose, to capture a war prize souvenir.  Had a Republican done that the media would have called for tar & feathers at best & for lynching at worst.  But the 'Nam was a DEMOCRAT'S WAR & so that made it all right in the eyes of the then & still is LEFTIST MEDIA.  A POW friend of mine paid for HANOI JANE & HANOI JOHN'S treason with his life.  I'll forgive both of them when the JEWS forgive HITLER.  Kerry is a lot like JFK, a "war hero" with a rich daddy to run interference & obtain medals in lieu of well deserved courts martials.  In Kennedy's case, for the now proved fiasco & dereliction of duty that led to the sinking of PT 109.  In Kerry's case, similar action earned a courts martial for Lt. Rusty Calley.  Kerry turned from "WAR HERO" with his big 4 months in country to a lying son of a bitch citing atrocities in EYE CORPS when that sorry excuse of man & sailor was nowhere near EYE CORPS.  And PURPLE HEARTS for scratches is just a bit much in they eyes of we who went in harm's way by order of a corrupt DEMOCRAT REGIME.  Now, suddenly, KERRY becomes "war hero" again & the "UNBIASED LEFTIST MEDIA" elaborates & fabricates rather than telling the truth of the sorry bastard.

Thomas Jefferson cursed the media on his death bed, the media that he, as the first truly great Liberal championed because it was already out of control in 1804.  I'm sure he's rolling in his grave now.  By defintion, , I was once a Liberal.  But today's Liberals are Liberals in name only.

So, yes, I'll vote, if for no other reason that it earns me the right to bitch.  I'll vote against a man whom had it been WW II, would have been shot for treason.

The DEMOCRATIC PARTY that I was a part of hasn't been heard from since Truman left office.  Today's DEMOCRATS are SOCIALIST CULTURAL ELITISTS & those a bit further down on the rungs of the ladder are the ones who can't see them for what they truly are even though the evidence is such that COLLEGE PROFESSORS or REPORTERS ought to be able to recognize it.  One might say that in the pecking order, one might consider DRUG DEALER & PIMP"

What a rant....His reference to reporter and college professor is a personal one. That's me he is talking about.

3. Looks like he got the talking points memo for today
Let's see... liberal elitist media... check.

John Kerry war crimes in Vietnam... check. (while ignoring the whole "GW didn't even go" thing)

Hanoi Jane... check. (this one's been shot down time and time again, but you can't expect a freeper let facts get in the way of his opinions)

"SOCIALIST CULTURAL ELITISTS"... check. (damn, he had to dig hard for that one, didn't he? By the way, who's the elitist: the people who want social equality, or the people who constanty, if implicitly, call gays, lesbians, and minorities inferior?)

4. Why do you have friends like that?
If someone threw a rant like that in my face I would deconstruct it to the point of making him look like a retarded idiot, then deconstruct him too. If someone talked to me like that he wouldn't be a friend; the gloves are off and I'd be pounding his a$$.

7. Actually,
He is a childhood friend and the lover of my best friend. So while I can't write him off, I just usually ignore him or say, "Oh, really? That's nice, dear...."
I've been quiet lately so he has been sending me jokes. This is our earlier discussion:

Him:
Subject:  Bear

On a tour of Alaska, the pope took a couple of days off to visit the
mountains for some sight seeing.  He was cruising along the campground
in the Pope-mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge
of the woods.  A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a "Save the
Whales" T-shirt, and a tree hugger Hat, was struggling frantically,
thrashing around trying to free himself from the jaws of a 10 foot
grizzly.

As the pope watched horrified, a group of Republican loggers came racing
up.   One quickly fired a .44 magnum into the bear's chest.  The other
two reached up and pulled the bleeding semiconscious Democrat from the
bear.  Then using long clubs, the three loggers beat the bear to death
and hauled it to their truck.

Immediately the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing
for your brave actions!" he told them. "I heard there was a bitter
hatred between loggers and environmental activists, but now I've seen
with my own eyes that that is not true."

As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies "Who was
that?"

"It was the Pope," another replied, "he's in direct contact with God and
has access to all God's wisdom."

"Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all God's wisdom, but he
sure doesn't know anything about bear hunting..... By the way, is the
bait holding up okay or do we need to go back to town and grab another
one?"

Me: That was a good one.

Him: Yes, it was, wasn't it.

Me: What I really liked about it was, it showed the Republicans to truly be the mindless, male-oriented, peace-hating mf'ers they are, and indicates that should we remain with the current regime, we can all expect to be treated like that poor Democrat -- used as bait for their darker pursuits. I think our men and women in uniform are like that right now, actually -- and what a pity it is.

By the way, Democrats are sexy. Who ever heard of a good piece of elephant??

Him:
Yes, well, as much as I dislike draft dodger Dick C. & noting how Dubya has fumbled the ball, I daresay that COMRADE KERRY will take us even deeper into debt & destruction; but of course, he does greatly resemble a long faced DONKEY & while a piece of elephant would no doubt be yucky, the majority of today's DEMOCRATS (not to be confused with the Democrat that I & others of my generation were) but rather the current crop of LYING, LIBERAL, PINKO, HOLIER THAN THOU, SELF SERVING, SANCTIMONIOUS SOCIALISTS, COMRADE COMMIES would probably confuse A PIECE OF ASS with the main course of a redneck picnic; BAR-B-Q MULE.  Ha!

Me:
OK - so you don't care for your fearless leaders. So how will you vote? Or won't you even vote?

And you have his answer.

9. My earlier statement stands.
From that exchange he is such a puffed-up self-worshipping twit that he must make everyone laugh behind his back. "Not to be confused with the Democrat that I & others of my generation were"! Jerk. He sounds like Bush, saying he never makes mistakes.
I admit that I only have the 2 things you posted to go by, and that's not much. However, if he came to my house and said things like that I'd throw him out. And if he emailed something like that to me I'd tell him to lose my address before I notified his provider.

6. This is a "friend" you say?
Sounds more like a stupid, uninformed fuckstick who is given to fits of jingoism without bothering to think rationally. Hey, I have a few Republican friends too, but at least they're not hateful idiots like your charity case. Tell him to go fuck himself.

8. I agree - not worth your dedicated time
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 09:19 PM by gristy
This person may be too far gone. Certainly not worth your energy in any 1:1 with him. What you could do though, is start a little email list where you send out news items of particular significance or personal relevance to all your friends and acquaintances (including this dunderhead). Like-minded political-savy friends will be glad to hear from you. Those who don't follow politics but still have an open mind will find your emails to be real eye openers. And the RW numbskulls (like this one) might eventually open their minds and THINK for once, or, maybe, their heads will explode. Either outcome of course is acceptable.

I've got a real RW job on my email list. When I added him, he first wrote me a personalized defense of bush, which I countered quickly without even breaking a sweat. After my next email, he hurriedly emailed me about a dozen RW articles (about half from newsmax) - I even posted a thread on DU about it. I responded to each of the articles.

I haven't heard from him since. And I don't think he's blocked my emails.

11. Sounds like you dealt with him well.
The reason I posted here rather than react to him, was to share the type of drivel I get from so many people I know. I hope I'm not as crazy on my beliefs as they are on theirs.
I can't debate him, because I can't shout him down, and because my friend doesn't need the crossfire. So I guess I'll let it go.

BUSH ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I attacked and took over two countries.

I shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history.
I set an economic record for the most private bankruptcies filed in any 12 month period.
I set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock market.
I am the first president in decades to execute a federal prisoner.
I am the first president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.
In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history.
After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history.
I set the record for most campaign fund raising trips by any president in US history.
In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their job.
I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history.
I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.
I appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any president in US history.
I set the record for the fewest press conferences of any president since the advent of TV.
I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other US president in history.
I presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed.
I presided over the highest gasoline prices in US history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have.
I cut health care benefits for war veterans.
I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.
I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history.
I've made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history.
Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in US history. (The poorest multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her).
I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the Union simultaneously go bankrupt.
I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market in any country in the history of the world.
I am the first president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the will of the United Nations and the world community.
I have created the largest government department bureaucracy in the history of the United States.
I set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases, more than any other president in US history.
I am the first president in US history to have the United Nations remove the US from the Human Rights Commission.
I am the first president in US history to have the United Nations remove the US from the Elections Monitoring Board.
I removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of congressional oversight than any presidential administration in US history.
I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant.
I withdrew from the World Court of Law.
I refused to allow inspectors access to US prisoners of war and by default no longer abide by the Geneva Conventions.
I am the first president in US history to refuse United Nations election inspectors access during the 2002 US elections.
I am the all-time US (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign donations.
The biggest lifetime contributor to my campaign, who is also one of my best friends, presided over one of the largest corporate bankruptcy frauds in world history (Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation).
I spent more money on polls and focus groups than any president in US history.
I am the first president to run and hide when the US came under attack (and then lied, saying the enemy had the code to Air Force 1)
I am the first US president to establish a secret shadow government.
I took the world's sympathy for the US after 911, and in less than a year made the US the most resented country in the world (possibly the biggest diplomatic failure in US and world history).
I am the first US president in history to have a majority of the people of Europe (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and stability.
I am the first US president in history to have the people of South Korea more threatened by the US than by their immediate neighbor, North Korea.
I changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.
I set the all time record for the number of administration employees who violated US law by not selling their huge investments in corporations bidding for government contracts.
I have removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any other president in US history. In a little over two years I have created the most divided country in decades, possibly the most divided that the US has been since the civil war.
I entered office with the strongest economy in US history and in less than two years turned every single economic category heading straight down.
