(what with the hare-lip, the three nostrils and the acid scars etc). I once helped my best friend do drag for Halloween, though, and a serious red-neck asked him to dance and tried to take him home. He did NOT reveal the "surprise" :evilgrin:


I do miss being out for drag shows though! They were such fun, and the drag queens I knew were such vicious, petty, semi-sane hags! I'd kill for any one of them right now!

There's one here who looks just like Sadie Frost from "Dracula". I mean, I'm straight and all, but damn! ;-)

they're so much more feminine than me - half the time they have smoother skin, nicer legs; they are experts at applying makeup - where do they get off? They make some of us hopeless "real women" look VERY bad. :o

and nobody notices whether or not you have smooth skin or nice legs.

It's all in the presentation! Ya gotta get yourself a gimmick!

All of our vacations tend to be unstructured "Hey, you wanna go there?" type events. Our honeymoon accidentally took us to Key West.

Of course we had no reservation, so we just pulled in to a place that looked interesting.

La Ti Da. C'mon, if you're going to Key West, and you see a hotel called La Ti Da, you have to stay there.

We pulled in, registered, and before he handed us our keys the desk clerk asked, "Do you like drag shows? 'Cause we've got a little show tonight..."

That night we went to an upstairs bar in the hotel to watch the "Ugliest Drag Queen in Key West" contest. It was one of the funiiest evenings of my life. The winner was well into her eighties.

Love drag queens. Love 'em.

From what I can recall... the web site brings back some memories... but they've done some improvements and remodeling and upgrades since then.

That contest you went too sounds like it was a HOOT!!!! Lotsa fun!

We had a room right off the pool. Loved the place, loved the drag show, loved Key West...

Truly one of the highlights of the honeymoon.

As far as the tuck/flatten, your guess is as good as mine---the stylist did it. Whatever it was, it was built into the dress, which was a rental from somewhere. Whatever it was, I had a hard time getting out of bed the following two days!

Wow, I do miss the monthly drag shows...

Our local cha-cha palace used to have monthly drag shows and they were always a hoot. We'd go whenever we could just because our local drag queens ran the gamut from beautiful to trash drag, and you NEVER knew for sure who all was gonna show up...

Skittles? I have got to tell you, that as a straight chick, I felt that same way with several of our local ladies--except for a just a couple. One was an Ethel Merman drag queen (funny as hell) and the other was a man I knew named Eugene who made a horrible looking woman--complete with an awful wig that looked like it came off the back end of a horse... I'd KILL to have the skin and looks some of those girls had!
