Anyone watch "Monk" last night . . .
...for some escapism from this mess of a world?

. . .Me, me, I did!! :hi:

"She has now gone meatless..." :D :D

Man, I do love a show that can make me laugh insanely one instant, and then utterly break my heart the next. I just love the friendship between Monk and Stottlemeier.

Even though Adrian totally drives him nuts, Stottlemeier loves him dearly; you can see that caring in the final scene of last night's episode, when he grabs his hand and holds it.

 What did you think?

2. I missed it!
I'm so sorry

I was out with friends but it looks like I missed a great episode. I woke up this morning and my head hurts :evilfrown: I don't know why or how I got them but I got some bumps on the back of my head. I know I got off topic but it sucks. :evilfrown:

6. I don't even know
I woke up this morning and realized my head hurts, then I started checking it out and found I had a couple bumps on the top. I seriously don't know how that happened. I'm sure I'll be ok, I've dealt with worse and that was definately the case. I would've stayed out but I definately needed to get some much needed rest.

When are re-runs?

3. Loved it.
Now officially the only show I watch every week. Tony's earned his statue all right.

The jackhammer bit went on painfully long IMO, but Monk's fixation with 'the urinator' more than made up for it. The younger cop was just so-so (again IMO) but Mykelti Williams had a good role... Loved the hospital scene though it was gut-wrenching!

5. Oh, yeah, the urinator!!

BWAHAHAHAHAH!!! That was classic. Hilarious. :D

And since I'm a sucker for utterly dumb humor, I loved the jackhammer bit too, but then, I like slapstick routines. :D

Yes, gut-wrenching is the right word for the final scene.
I had a stitch in my side that entire hour up until the end, and then all of a sudden....bam. Major drama.

Shalhoub is a magnificent actor, he has such sensitivity.

This is me... (click)... turning off your morphine.

Loved it. And so the Trudy mystery deepens.

I also loved how he twigged on the guy who peed in the subway during his summation.

When he became a street preacher, I really thought I'd fall off the couch in hysterics. Tony Shalhoub is a master, truly. I'm so glad that show it back; my only complaint is that the seasons are so short.

The season finale last time was hilarious when he was in that cheesy '50s diner where the waiters & waitresses were singing. I wish I had taped that one.:D

Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 01:24 PM by m-jean03

IMO, laughter is some of the best therapy there is. :-)

The seasons are short, but they are twice a year, so that's cool.

16. Only the second episode I've seen. It was great. When the series started
I figured it was my kind of thing but I was too busy (and, for well over a year, had no TV reception) to watch it. Good stuff. Tony Shalhoub is excellent in the role.

I don't watch much TV, this is one of the few shows IMO that is worth watching aside from some sitcoms. . . :hi:

You can imagine what I was thinking when he was pondering the meaning of
"She has now gone meatless". :D It seemed so apt.

(Of course, it turned out to be Latvian for "this is not my coat." )

23. Did you know?
That the actor that plays Stottlemeier also played the bad guy ,umm the other bad guy that wasn't Lector in the movie "Silence of the Lambs". I just love his accent.

That was a bitter sweet show. I must confess that part about Trudy turning back on the morphine had me a bit choked up.
