1. It looks like we are heading for a minority governmnent
I'm astonished that the Conservatives are doing so well. I still think that a great many people are expressing distaste for the Liberal scandals but may come back and vote for them. I've been waiting for Stephen Harper to shoot himself in the foot, which he may have done now with his 'Martin supports child pornography' accusation.
That's the kind of ugly posturing that made the Alliance a fringe party to a large number of Canadians.

At least the NDP's numbers are improving.

2. There's another thread about Can elections with some
heartening poll numbers. It also where I learned a new acronym: CRAP

Conservative Reform Alliance Party.

3. thanks for the link
I always thought the acronym CRAP was hilarious (and very fitting) especially since the Conservatives wouldn't join the alliance the Reformers were allied with nobody but themselves.

CRAP alright.

4. I think it depends
As I understand it, Canada's electoral system works by having the canidate with the most votes win the district. If thats the case then voting for the NDP could have a Nader affect and get the conservative elected. I would look at the polls and see if the NDP has a chance in your district, and if he does vote for him, if not you should vote for the Liberal Party to prevent the conservative from winning.

9. Yeah, man, don't split the vote!
Seriously, dude, this time the stakes are *so* high, you can't afford to cast a protest vote. Hold your nose and vote for the candidate who has the best chance of getting elected who isn't the C.R.A.P.per, of course...unless you really think that "Prime Minister Stephen Harper" has a nice ring to it (bleeeaaarrrrgghhchch!)...

5. Just got back from the advance polls...
One more "X" for Mr. Fraser.

I live in one of the ridings where NDP and Conservatives are neck in neck... for once, my vote might actually count!

8. My Dad has a funny story about him
Bill used to have a garden show on CKNW. And my Dad had a problem with the cherry tree, so he called. Bill gave him wierd advice, but my Dad did it, and no results came. A few years later my Dad saw his son Whim at a garden show and brought it up. Whim laughed and said, "Don't listen to my Dad, he doesn't know what he's doing."

10. I wish the Liberals & NDP would keep pointing out Harper's Mulroney
connection....He meets with Mulroney constantly and has even used the same phrase Mulroney used, "You won't recognize Canada when I'm through with it".....Canadians HATE Mulroney....still!.....I think this could stop Harper in his tracks....
