Just got this from my brother-in-law, who took it while we were visiting two weekends back. The plan is to take another one in 17 years, if Ms. C will let us...

Visited family in Cincinnati in late May. I missed the Cicadas 17 years ago as I lived in Boston. Time before that I was 10. My most vivid memory is the boys putting copulating cicadas on Sr. Carmella's desk. Ha!

My own little 5 year old had was intrigued. I didn't think to get a photo. We came home with lots of shells. Her uncles taught her a little illusion trick to look like she was eating them. Something to try on her friends in FL.

Is that sweetheart yours?

5. My 5 year old asked about the cicadas today...

I told him that the next time he sees them, he'll be 23 years old.

He asked if he'd be mature when he's 23. I said, "I hope so." :)

Lately, my little guy's fascinated with "Mature"-rated video games, because I won't allow him to play them. So he keeps asking if 6 is mature, 7, 8, 9, etc...

I'm just trying to get him to enjoy 5 for another week. :D
