Best Autobiography I've Read!, February 8, 2002

Reviewer: republicanrealist from Charleston, SC

This is the best autobiography from George Bush I've ever read. It clearly shows Bush's side of his struggles with Alchoholism, Cocaine abuse and Business failure. His surprisingly fresh sense of humor neatly balances his harrowing accounts of the action and bloodshed in Vietnam that he witnessed on T.V. while safe at home in the National Gaurd where he trained to fly out-moded jets. George is a hero for our age. Who better to represent our country in it's declinig years than an illegitimate "president" with a third-graders grasp of our world. God DOES have a sense of humor.

A Brilliant Masterpience, May 19, 2004
Reviewer: Brian M Leet from Greenville, SC USA
Written in a stream of consciousness style, this book is a nightmare peopled by secret agents, mad doctors, gangsters, zombies, phallic monsters, vampires and extraterrestrials involved in sadomasochistic orgies, transformations, diabolical plots and interplanetary warfare. Wait a minute, I'm thinking of William S. Burrough's _Naked Lunch_ . My mistake.

That's too funny....:D

Fascinating!, March 31, 2003
Reviewer: A reader from Asheville, NC USA
Wow! What an excellent book. Shows how Hughes helped create the political and intellectual powerhouse that is George W. Bush. The scenes from his college days, especially the bukkake event at Skull & Bones, is just delightful!!

Almost Too Shallow For Words, November 23, 1999

Reviewer: Dr. Popinofsky (see more about me) from Kansas City, MO

Why is this guy so popular? I mean, through his ghost writer (you really didn't believe Bush wrote this himself, did you?) he presents us with a portrait of a very shallow and empty life. Until his election as Governor of Texas, George W. Bush never succeeded at anything in his entire life. And even that is questionable. Everything has been handed to him his entire life, and if he hadn't been fortunate enough to carry his daddy's name, the Texas governorship probably wouldn't have been handed to him either.

He has no intellectual curiosity or public accomplishments, and this book says as much. His only drive is to become president, but he really can't tell us why. This book was supposed to address that problem, but it only attempts to paper over the flaws in Bush's unstoried past.

With this book George W. Bush really has proven that he isn't ready (and probably never will be) to serve as president of our nation. He's a man that carries all the personal failings of our current president and all the intellectual abilities of his father's vice-president. Not an attractive combination.
