I Met President Clinton - Book Signing
Wow, I am tired.
I got on line at 5:00 am to meet President Clinton. I was about 200-250 people back in the line. It rained hard for several hours, but I made lots of new friends. Clinton showed up at 1:00 and I got into see him about ~2:30. It was very rushed, but I thanked him for all he did for the country, told him we missed him a great deal. He thanked me for the kind words and I was off. The guy behind me made a joke about the book being heavy after carrying it for 8 hours. That got a laugh out of Bill.
It was a great chance to meet one of my idols.
Only on page 12 of the book, buts it a slow read. I like it so far.

13. I wanted to see him Friday
too, but I'm going camping this weekend. Sheesh, if I had only known when I made the reservations that Farenheit-911 would be opening, and Bill Clinton would be in town, I would have skipped camping. But now I can't do that to my kid. Clinton will be back in LA at least once, don't you think?

3. How many people total do you think were there?
And congrats on being able to meet him and talk to him! I'm very jealous.

Damn shame he only allowed one book per person.

4. They were strict about the one book limit.
I bought two books, but his staffers only let yuo take one up to the signing. One person said she was there to get a book signed for Carol Channing, but they wouldn't let her have two signed either.

8. I'd guess 5000 or so
The line stretched down 48th street from 5th to sixth. Then up 6th avenue to 49th street. Up 49th street to 5th and then back to the point of origin at B&N. They stopped giving out the bracelets at some point and people were mad. However, they gave out bracelets to everyone in line until about 11:00 am. The staffer said he was leaving at 4:00 though, so I doubt anyone who got there after 7:00 am got a book signed.

9. Thanks for that.
I might have to go to Little Rock on July 30th so I can shake his hand and thank him for everything he has done for our country. I just love me some Big Dog! :-)

14. great!
And getting a chance to network like that is a real bonus. I wonder how much political activity could be generated by meetings in Clinton book-signing lineups?

p.s. told you he's got a sense of humor!

What a great experience. It sounds like the wait was worth it for you. I would have done it, as well, but doubt that he will ever make it up to upstate New York Freeper country.:-(
